For my 1st summer learning journey Activity I have went on a site called canva. The task was to make a creative background so I used canva then I put my pepeha on the top of the background. I learnt that I can use canva  fluently. If I could change anything about it I would use a different app because canva didn't have  maori backgrounds for me to use  but besides that I really like this activity its really fun.

  1. Kia ora Capri,

My name is Olive and I’m one of the new blog commentators in the Kaikohekohe cluster this summer! I’m working the Teaser Week and I’m super excited to see all your blog activities!

Congratulations on completing your first blog post!
What an awesome place to make your Pepeha on! I do find Canava such a groovy place to be creative! Ka pai for trying out something new! I’m sorry to hear that there wasn’t much traditional Māori artwork featured as an option on Canva! Māori artwork is very unique and special. I especially love seeing it as not only is it beautiful, but often tells a very incredible story. What’s some of your favourite Māori artwork? Perhaps you could include some of your favourites in a blogpost and the story behind them? I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

This year at my university, I also learnt about what a Pepeha is and eventually researched and completed my own. I’ve put it here so you can learn more about me!

I learned a lot about my family history. It was really interesting finding out all this information! Did you find out anything special about your family, or your local areas? Let me know if you did, I can’t wait for your reply!

I’m super excited to see what else you come up with this week!

    Ngā mihi,
    Olive
