We've had a three day trip to wellington, all paid for ready to go just with a fee of 175 dollars and with some rules to go by on this three day trip. We got to be up at the school by 6:00am to take the bus down to the Auckland airport did I tell you that my teacher had to fundraise 1100 dollars for 20 students and 5 teachers to come down to wellington anyways,, Were down at the airport yeah we get told that were aloud to go get us a feed so we all go to Maccas it was nice. Now it's time to catch our plane and we're all hurrying up to eat our food in the line we were waiting in to get checked. groups went on at a time to go sit in our seets. Were on the plane I was by the most dramatic person on the plane (Tahlya) shes like im gonna cry when we were taking off. We get to the airport an hour later and were playing handball outside, Whaea Annette and Whaea Shannon got us taxis to go to the National Library. We spent enough time there to learn enough about our history sung some songs too those people and were on the taxis to go book into our hotel we were staying in... Man that place was onn maybe because there was a New World across the road from the place we were staying at. Well we went to New world to go get munchies for the night well Whaea Annette shouted us KFC ( personal thanks). It was cool that night because we were all just vibin in this room with heaps of bean bags and a big T.v it was great. We all went to sleep at like 11 just eating our food in the rooms my badd. Tuesday exactly 6:00 I got up sat outside and watched some tik toks with Tai witch was crack up. We all got into our school clothes which were a skirt, white shirt and a blazer and for the boys navy pants, white shirt, blazer and a tai. We all went to the Parliament buildings which was great but our legs were sore from walking too much. We learnt about how people are in court and were the people sit it was aight. We sang some good songs ( a bit flat but oh well),, We got shouted lunch fish and chips with a drink sitting down at the park they made. Then up again to go to Te papa. We get too Te papa and mann it was fun as because after the tour we went into this animated gallipoli and the words in the background well the sound was letters read that people in war write to their beloved ones. it was very interesting and funny. We get to our hotel, go get changed to go out for dinner it was entertaining and cool because we got food after walking around and learning heaps of stuff. We go too New world get food obviously we go back into that room with the big tv I was talking about and you can feel the vibe right there looking at everyone laughing, playing on there phones eating there food everything that vibe right then and there was good. Wednesday last day of this trip we celebrate by having breaki and then we go straight too packing up cleaning our rooms. We have all our stuff ready and set. We spend our last day at ballarama this bowling place it was funny because we weren't really talented at bowling but just the laugh counted. After bowling we all went to the arcade games mann I BEAT TAI AT THAT CAR GAME.. yeah but had some good bonding time with tai and george there. We get too the airport and jump on the plane were all tired and wanting to go to sleep. ohh the bus we all sit down tired with all our left over foods from the trip we all chill till we get back home. I was a good experience going made a lot of memories and bonds with alot of people I cant forget.

Keep New Zealand Clean Week.

On Friday the 11th of September 2020 as a school most of the classes went out to the community to clean up New Zealand because that week it was Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week. And as a class our teacher Whaea Annette told our class that she booked us for last period to go pick up rubbish down Whitemans Road and Leonards Street Kawakawa. I think we did a good job cleaning I guess everyone down the street was pleased that we cleaned up the streets. We had three bags of rubbish in the end. It was a good one and cause towards New Zealand. And we all got a badge and a sticker.

6 things that are Kiwanis with there story to say.

  •  Gumboots how they are Kiwanis, Workers would wear long rubber boots when digging to keep the mud and gum from getting onto their legs and skin.
  •  The pavlova is named after the famed Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova, who toured Australia and New Zealand in 1926. As the New Zealand story goes, the chef of a Wellington hotel at the time created the billowy dessert in her honour, claiming inspiration from her tutu.
  •  The buzy bee was the first toy ever created in the 1930’s by Maurice Schlesinger. Sandals were manufacturing the traditionally wooden Japanese sandal out of plastic, in Hong Kong in the late 1940s before immigrating to New Zealand in 1959
  • . Whittikers chocolate top selling brand of chocolate ever.
  • Tip Top is our only ice-cream company in New Zealand, October 1935 created by two friends named Albert Haman and Len Callaghan.

Migration assessment😅

Kia ora so today i am making a blog post about what I learnt about migration in social studies I hope you enjoy my essay and learn a little about migration.

For the past term in social studies I have been learning a lot about migration. I learnt about the Moriori and  European settlers. Them arriving to New Zealand has made a really big difference to New Zealand a difference that makes us how we are today. We have learnt what they have encountered or did on there Navigation journey. We have learnt as a class the struggle of Moriori. Back then the food and supplies were very rare for them, But with practise and hard work they got the hang of doing everything to provide those things. Over the years they were on Aotearoa there were settlers that came with pest animals that kill native animals then the population of native animals were becoming smaller and smaller till there were only just a few. Then there was war that happened very often the people in the area got so use to it that it became a regular thing. Then the treaty came 1940 got signed for justice and peace between Maori and British. They signed because they wanted there children to have better days. Migration is all about new beginnings for people moving. We learnt so much history and the truth about New Zealand. So much im even talking to my dad about it. The history has its message and the future is still creating its one. I learnt a lot about migration

Culture

Kia ora today in social studies we had to pick a culture and the teacher gave us variety of questions to answer. I hope you enjoy what I have to say about America.

Question one: what culture have you chosen and why?
I have picked American because the population that has been judged or blamed for wrongs they never committed. Racism is becoming more of a damage and im here to encourage and support the wrongs they are doing because of a person or someones colour skin.

Question two: What country do they come from: America
Question three: what is tradition food in America: Hamburger and cheese burger.
Question four: How do they say hello in American: Hi

I hope you have learnt a lot and know that you dont judge people from the colour of there skin it is what they present to you that counts.

Migration

Pull factors

Someone moving to an area because they have good areas of that place is good for education.
Or maybe for a new job. Or for a new view. Maybe because its cheaper. Or family in the area.

Push factors

Someone moving away maybe for more space to a bigger area or because there child gave them a
bad name or to go stay with family. Our relationship down or up there go move with them. Or catchment
area for school.

Why is New Zealand good to migrate too?

  • Spectacular Scenery
  • Rich Culture
  • Outdoors Lifestyle
  • Room to Breathe
  • Plenty of Jobs for Skilled Expats
  • Weather
  • Multicultural Society
  • 'The Coolest Little Capital in the World

About Me

Kia ora my name is Capri . I have 8 siblings including my step sisters. Their names are Joseph, Saphire, Kahurangi, Myself, Sonny boy, Naia. My step sisters are Humarie and Rangimarie. My culture is Maori and Pakeha.  I use to go to Kawakawa primary school it was alright their I guess. Now I go to Bay of Islands of Collage. It is awesome here I really like it because their are challenging things here and things to keep me active.I am good at Kapa-haka but I don't choose to sing in front or with people I like singing by myself. I am also good at swimming I enjoy it but it's only a hobby. I enjoy SST and ENG because there are things that are really easy. My challenges are MAT,SCI and PE because they give me really challenging things for me in maths. PE and SCI is hard because I can't stop talking i'm trying to stop. My goals are to get good grades in my classes and many more to come over the year. I’m looking forward too everything easy and hard I really enjoy it here just things I can't control like my talking. But over the year I will get that under control. I have no achievements im not proud of but i'm hoping I can achieve good things this year that I and others can say.
